The Late Birds Lisbon: what do users think?

R G: I loved staying at the Late Birds in Lisbon during my vacation in July 2023. I stayed seven nights in a top floor room and had an incredible stay. I was traveling solo. The location is terrific, the rooms and building well designed, the staff super accommodating, the in-house massage was incredible, and the breakfasts were solid. Highly recommend and extend my gratitude to the team who made my stay super memorable. If stairs are a problem, the room at the top that I stayed in might not be suitable.

David Laborde: This hotel made our trip. The rooms are smartly designed and super stylish - very comfortable. The staff was great - very friendly and with lots of knowledge and recommendations on bars, restaurants, and things to do in the area. We had drinks at the hotel bar each night and kiki-ed with the staff and guests before going out. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Lisbon!

Mickael CHAPOT: Ideal location both close to the historic center and the lively neighborhoods in the evening, not to mention the sauna for relaxing 300m away. Both the hotel and the rooms are elegant, a little corner of tranquility. The staff is charming, smiling and takes great care to ensure our satisfaction.

Hugh Hick: Just back from a three night stay and just want to echo what all the other reviews say - this place is superbThe hotel has a casual and comfortable guesthouse vibe - it’s small enough which is definitely a strength as it adds to the intimate community atmosphere which I think makes the place so special. It seemed to be popular with couples while I was there but I didn’t feel at all out of place as a solo traveller. It’s a great location beside Chiado and a perfect base to visit Lisbon’s major sights. Nice outdoor pool and sunbathing area complete with bar which is great to catch the sun though I didn’t get a chance to spend much time thereThe rooms are simple and stylish. If you’re used to staying at bigger hotels you might find them lacking some of the minor extras and flourish you’re used to, but I found mine very comfortable and having an iMac in the room is a nice touch! The breakfast buffet is again small but in terms of the quality of the food it was as good as any I had in any Portugese hotel if not betterWhat makes this place special though is the staff who at all times were so welcoming and obviously so committed to this being a safe space and haven for gay men in Lisbon. Special shout out to Ryan and Francisco who were both amazing in helping me find my way around and giving great recommendations. The hotel also offers specially arranged events guests can sign up for including a sunset cruise - unfortunately I didn’t get to try it due to sea conditions while I was there but it sounds spectacularI absolutely recommend staying here and am counting the days until I get the chance to come again!

Leah Jardin: for a few days.

Adrian Scherma: , and the pool is a real bonus. However, housekeeping was poor with only a change of towels and emptying of bins daily

Andrew Wedge: This is our first time here and we couldn’t be happier. The staff is amazing and super kind, the space itself is beautiful with brand new interiors that are pretty spacious for Europe and very thoughtfully designed with a lot of storage… the outdoor space and pool are amazing!

Andrew Steel: Fantastic ! Stayed 5 nights, I 2 room types in July'23. The property has an awful lot going for it and should definitely be considered if you looking for a gay resort or hotel in Lisbon. Price was right firstly , very competitive I felt. The property is certainly boutique but doesn't cut aany corners, in fact quite the opposite. Location was excellent, hospitality and hosting from Carlos and Charles was superb, warm and welcoming without being intrusive. Breakfast was really good enough to set you up for the day, afternoon drinks around the pool was really a great way to meet others. Room finishes were modern and designer, beds super comfy, air-conditioning super cold . Overall I couldn't fault it and would definitely pay the lift suite another time , it's a beautiful room .Rooms: All the rooms are excellent, but I would pick either the the balcony rooms overlooking the pool or the loft suite.Nearby activities: Tremendously well located for tourist activities, but in a nice quiet street . Taxi can access .Food & drinks: Breakfast is provided , eggs and I really good spreadNoteworthy details: I believe male only and catering to gay market , this is one of the best dedicated resorts I've stayed in . Clothes on policy at the pool keeps it classy throughout

Rich Williams: Husband and I stayed four nights and couldn’t ask for a better place to temporarily call home. Morning breakfast was delicious and the poolside retreat was a perfect place to ease into the evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and immediately felt like friends, provided top notch recommendations for sight seeing, restaurants, and night life. They put themselves into the hotel and it shows - including their childhood graphic novels in the restaurant library! We also appreciated evening programming like streaming Drag Race and performances. The sunset cruise was also a highlight. Thanks so much for the wonderful stay - will definitely be back.

Ian Hubbard: It's hard to describe how wonderful our stay was at The Late Birds. The room and common areas were clean and beautiful, the breakfasts were delicious and the staff and owners were unbelievably welcoming and friendly. We made a lot of new friends and booked another stay for next year before the first one was even finished. If you are gay and planning a trip to Lisbon, this is where you need to stay.

Louis Hellinger: I needed a place to stay for 1 night and I was so happy that they were able to accommodate me. This place is fantastic. All gay. Tastefully designed. Great rooms. The garden/pool are fantastic. The staff was helpful and friendly. I will definitely be returning.

Ian Hawkins: Absolutely the best choice and what a difference staying at such a beautiful and friendly hotel made to our first time in Lisbon. The hotel is the perfect size to meet other guests and to enjoy the pool and bar area. The rooms and facilities are faultless and everyone there is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was really good too. Thank you to all who made our stay so memorable.

Attention Please: One of my favorite hotel stays ever! An unbeatable location, clean, modern rooms, great breakfasts and a poolside bar. Can't recommend highly enough.Rooms: Clean, modern rooms with comfortable beds, computer, and great showers! Hotel is 4 stories with no elevator which could pose a problem for guests with mobility issues, but if walking up hill is difficult, Lisbon may not be the city for you.Nearby activities: Fantastic location in the heart of the city. Walk to the waterfront, main shopping streets, nightlife and castle.Walkability: Can't beat the location for walkability.Food & drinks: Great breakfast selections. Poolside bar was perfect way to end a day of touring the city and a nice way to meet other guests.Noteworthy details: Gay men's resort with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

Tom Fangras: Highly recommend! The location is perfect and the owners along with their staff are professional and very helpful and still very fun. You really feel included with their activities as well including a boat ride or a night out. We appreciated the attention to detail in the building and rooms themselves which are all well done. Example includes the high quality windows that when closed, blocks out city noise very well. Will be back!

Olissippo Lapa Palace Hotel: what do users think?

Maria del Carmen Torrado Tarrio: It was under renovation. I could only see the pool and the garden.Hotel highlights Luxury, Romantic, Quiet …

Karin Stach: A manor house that has been wonderfully converted into a hotel, with an extension and waterfall, a pretty garden is terraced with a wonderful swimming pool. A beach bar is also available. I fondly remember the pianist at the piano, I wanted to put a tip in his pocket and he was playing Lilly Marleen and he asked me to sing along. I did it easily in front of an international audience, but I had already had at least two glasses of wine drank, otherwise I would have lacked the courage. Overall, the hotel was a great highlight for my daughter and me. A beautiful memory.Food & drinks: The breakfast was great, there was something for everyone, a huge selection of fruit, vegetables and breads. There was basically everything you could want in the land of milk and honey

Cloak And Donuts: The service and food here are absolutely incredible, and the palace is beautiful! We had the privilege to stay in the Oriental Suite which is large and so comfortable, but old buildings have old building problems! Our heater is enough to just keep the worst of the cold off but we still need to wear multiple layers inside, and the pipes are being changed to plastic so there have been a couple minor water issues. This is almost done so hopefully this is no longer a problem in the future! The staff have been super quick to check on the problems, so responsive to help even at night! So if small issues like this are where you pick another place then I understand, but you'll be missing out on all the other amazing things about this place!

Pablo Chavez: Rooms: ComfortableGreat View of Tagus RiverSafety: Appeared very safeWalkability: Not WalkableFood & drinks: Breakfast very good

Alan Weisz: Phenomenal hotel in Lisbon. Quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to great restaurants and short Uber ride to anywhere in city. Staff is professional and welcoming and get "unstuffy" when we got to know them. Nicest hotel we have ever stayed at with combination of amazing service, room decor, helpfulness from concierge to front desk to waiters to housekeeping. Very top notch and we have stayed all over the U.S. and world west of the Orient. As is common with hotel restaurants, there's is pricey but have highest quality of food and service. especially liked the bar lounge for lunch, relaxation, and after dinner entertainment and cocktails. Say hi to Oscar, the piano player from his new friend Alan from Chicago. What a Pro and gentleman. Just a very classy place as a base for experiencing the enchanting city of Lisbon.Rooms: Stayed in two different rooms on two different reservations, and each was beautifully appointed with special touches of furniture, abundant outlets, great beds and pillows and twice daily housekeeping service which is world Class.Walkability: safe, but hilly with uneven sidewalks and streets. Not for the handicapped or infirm but if your in good shape, very doable. Walked all the way from waterside up to hotel in 30 minutes.Food & drinks: see review.

Manuel Branco: Food & drinks: Ótimas e empregados extraordinários.

Rana Raheel: Amazing Location in front of Rossio Square. The staff is very polite & Professional Specially the Saulo made our day he was very understanding and help us visiting city . I must say the standard is outstanding. I will recommend if u planning to visit lisbaon definitely this is a heart of city.I love their breakfast .Overall my experience is outstanding.Thank you so much

Shirley NKL: The services, that left an impression were the concierge, breakfast and room services. They were awesome. The concierge team was very helpful; going out of their way to assist. The breakfast team was prompt and helpful; the breakfast spread was good. At the breakfast area, there is an open elevator for the disabled. This is very convenient. The bottled water available in the room was a boon and complement the tea coffee service, as the tap water has a rather off-putting chlorine taste.Kudos to the staff who came up with a door wedge that was big enough to hold the room door open. This allows the seamless movement of the wheelchair to and from the room. This is indeed a hotel that considers the needs of its physically challenged guests. Kudos to all!

Amy Kang: I personally like Intercontinental hotel and Lisboa Intercontinental was one of the nice ones. Room was luxurious and bed was comfortable. Loved the rug, and beddings. It was nice gesture to send me parties with Port wine.Breakfast buffet was nice. Great service and nice spread of hot food, fruits and breakfast pastries. Staff were very friendly, especially the valet staff.I would definitely stay again when I come to Lisbon.Rooms: Luxurious and had a nice view of LisbonNearby activities: Wonderland Lisboa and botanical gardenWalkability: Botanical garden and park is at right front of hotel.

hans holzschuh: at a 5-star level.

Giuliano Toniolo: Excelente opção para ficar no centro histórico de Lisboa! Ótimos atendimento e café da manhã!Rooms: Extremamente amplo e confortável.

Sea 3327: I have had an exceptional experience at this hotel; From the luxurious rooms to the delicious food and modern meeting rooms, every detail has been carefully cared for. The service is impeccable, always attentive to make sure we don't miss anything. I especially highlight the attention in the bar, where I enjoyed pleasant moments. Without a doubt, one of the best hotels I have ever been to. I recommend this place for an unforgettable experience and top quality service.Rooms: The bed that traps you, it's a shame that I had to get up early every dayFood & drinks: The buffet was very good, the food was great and they knew how to manage a large group, which is not possible in all places.

Maloles Sanchez-Migallon: Super spacious, elegant and comfortable room. But above all the details they have. The chocolates, the sweet wine, the cream cakes… and a lot of amenities! Highly recommended.Rooms: Lots of details, super spacious. Great mattresses. Elegant and not overloaded.

Artur Martinho: Amazing location, the rooms are incredible and the staff could not be any more helpful and professional.See you again next year.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lisbon - Fontana Park: what do users think?

Stéphanie DUPRE: .The welcome was perfect.

Kevin Mao: We have just stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon Fontana Park for two nights. The hotel is conveniently located close to the centre of Lisbon. There are metro and trams available but we drove as we had a rental car. The hotel offers complimentary parking for Hilton Gold and Platinum members which is great! Our Deluxe room was bright and in good size. However, the room was very noisy as it was next to the main street and soundproofing wasn't good. And the bathroom of our room 361 showed some signs of age and needs a bit attention as the drawer paints are peeling and bathroom marble needs a good polish etc.Over the course of two days I found all the staff that we came across at reception extremely helpful and friendly. They were well-trained and were the ambassadors of the hotels. WELL DONE!Breakfast was also excellent with a good selection of hot and cold food on the buffet. We would happily stay here again when we return to Lisbon.Thank you.

Richard Collins: Food & drinks: Great takeaway coffee’s!Service: 5/5 …

Solar do Castelo: what do users think?

ANGELIQUE CARON: Great hotel with a remarkable, cozy and romantic setting.Little extra aperitif in the evening with free champagne served in the breakfast room.Hearty breakfast...I highly recommend

Renuka Morris: till 9pm.The rooms are decent but the service is top standard.

Stefan Milowski: Relatively small hotel in a historic building, beautifully and comfortably furnished insideVery nice courtyard.Friendly staff, everything very clean.Fantastic breakfast for a ridiculous surcharge.Free snacks, coffee and sparkling wine throughout.Large rooms with marble bathrooms, very nicely furnished and absolutely clean. The only drawback is the location at the top of the hill. You can get to the center in 10 minutes, but the steep climb is a bit difficult..

Christoffer S: What a beautiful place to stay while visiting this wonderful city! The hotel is located on a hill near Castelo Sao Jorge. It's housed in a nicely restored old structure. The apartments are quaint and comfy, and the courtyard is a lovely spot to unwind and watch the peacocks. The breakfast is excellent. The staff was extremely helpful! They took care of everything for us. We will surely return! The prices was pretty consistent over €275 a night on all booking sites but was able to find it the cheapest on Locktrip for €189 a night, if you do this little trick and add this code 0S4FS before login you get it even cheaper, enjoy👍

Will Kirby: , and above all the staff are extremely kind and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home! We particularly enjoyed the little touches like the complimentary Port in the rooms and the tiny museum in the basement

Cairy Littlejohn: The hotel is up a very steep and winding hill. If you have any issues with walking up steep cobblestone paths, this is not for you. Get a bus / tram / metra pass; it will serve you well getting around Lisbon but it will be essential because the #737 bus takes you almost all the way up to the hotel, except for the last few hundred meters. Also, some have mentioned that cabs do not take you "all the way to the hotel". This was not our experience. We took several late night cabs and the drivers were happy to deliver us right to the front door.2

Lisbon Marriott Hotel: what do users think?

Richard Ribicki: I don't stay here often enough, but when I do, Susana and her team make me feel like part of the family, going to great lengths to spoil me and welcome me into the fold. It's always difficult to leave. I know I'll gain a kilo or two indulging in all the food and drink that I am offered. Despite its large size, I still get to know a number of staff with whom I habitually engage. It's always interesting. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, 2 floors at a time, so when all 18 floors have been redone, the property will get a new lease on life, and be even that much better. I love the balconies, and the views from my 18th room suite were spectacular. The outdoor pool area is especially attractive, as it's in a garden setting and one can eat meals on the outdoor terrace of the adjacent restaurant. My suite was large, comfortable and attractive, with a traditional design. Everything was in perfect working order and in pristine condition.Buffet breakfast had a good selection on offer, and one could order specific selections from the chef manning the egg station. Mimosas were available for those so inclined. The Executive Lounge is a bonus for those eligible to use it, and sitting on the outdoor terrace with a beverage is a pleasant end to the day.Location of the hotel is not the most central, but in all honesty, getting a Bolt or Uber is so inexpensive, that it negates that even being an issue. The bonus of being out of the central hub is that it's much quieter and has a larger footprint, allowing for more commodious rooms and public areas. Whether I walk, take public transit, or hail a Bolt or Uber, I've always enjoyed staying at the Marriott and look forward to visiting again.

Marievi Xezonaki: I stayed at Marriott Lisbon hotel with my friend during January 2024 and the accommodation totally exceeded my expectations. We had the most amazing welcome by the kind and helpful staff. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean, and had a balcony with beautiful views. The breakfast area was very large and the selection had a great variety for every taste and was absolutely delicious. Also the hotel's spaces are beautifully decorated and perfect to do some work or relax by the pool. Finally, it's easy to go everywhere by taxi in just a few minutes and it's very close to the airport too. I highly recommend it for your next trip to Lisbon!

Ivana Bojanic: Pillows are horrible, but other than that, hotel is good. Every room has balcony and view over pool is amazing.Rooms: Pillows are bad. Every time i stayed there, I got the stiff neck
